Former Nassau County PD Lt. Robert Cuerbo Dies At 69

Retired Detective Lt. Robert L. Cuerbo, of Old Chatham, formerly of Long Beach, died unexpectedly on Saturday, June 1 at a hunting lodge. He was 69.

Cuerbo served 38 years in the Nassau County Police Department, as well as 11 years to the Tri-Village Fire Department in Columbia County, in his retirement.

 He leaves behind his wife Mary T. Cuerbo, mother Madeline Cuerbo, sister Joanne Caggiano, and children Erica Cuerbo, Alex Cuerbo, and Amanda Cuerbo, as well as his grandson Francescantonio Barone. 

Visitation will be Thursday, June 6 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Wenk Funeral Home in Chatham, with a reception to follow.
